U.S. stocks rose as investors assessed a batch of strong earnings and signs of progress in trade talks with China. Treasuries fell and the dollar rose. Optimism was also helped by a possible deal on the U.S. debt limit with an initial bipartisan agreement to raise it and thusly remove another layer of uncertainty for the markets moving forward. Currently, the TSX is up 0.38% and the DJIA is up 0.24%. EURCAD is down 0.29% trading between 1.4660 and 1.4715. GBPCAD is down 0.19% trading between 1.6304 and 1.6395. JPYCAD is down 0.29% trading between 0.01213 and 0.01217. Gold is up 0.29% trading between $1,414 and $1,430USD/oz, silver is up 0.75% trading between $16.17 and $16.53USD/oz, while oil (WTI crude) is up 0.02% trading between $55.78 and $56.52.
