Stocks opened lower as concerns continues to swirl about the prospects for a long term trade deal between the U.S. and China. Many experts now think China will play the long game and placate the Trump administration in the short term while hoping for a more manageable president after next years election. A position that if it backfires could have dire trade consequences.

Currently, the TSX is down 0.25% while the DJIA is down 0.45%. EURCAD is down 0.05% trading between 1.4655 and 1.4720. GBPCAD is up 0.34% trading between 1.6980 and 1.7081. JPYCAD is up 0.52% trading between 0.01209 and 0.01218. Gold is up 1.20% trading between $1,494 and $1,513USD/oz while silver is up 1.73% trading between $17.79 and $18.15. Oil (WTI crude) is down 1.20% trading between $54.20 and $55.59.
