U.S. stocks fell as investors remained wary of an escalation in tensions with Iran. The dollar gained, while oil continued its retreat from multimonth highs. The S&P 500 headed for its second drop in three sessions, with investors cautious after Iran threatened a military response to a U.S. airstrike that killed a top general four days ago. The Cboe Volatility Index rose above 14 as geopolitics dominated sentiment. Currently, the TSX is up 0.22% and the DJIA is down 0.27%. EURCAD is up 0.02% trading between 1.4488 and 1.4524. GBPCAD is up 0.02% trading between 1.7017 and 1.7127. JPYCAD is up 0.40% trading between 0.01193 and 0.01201. Gold is up 0.29% trading between $1,555 and $1,571USD/oz while silver is up 0.46% trading between $17.95 and $18.25. Oil (WTI crude) is down 0.90% trading between $62.55 and $63.10.
