The end-of-month rebound in global equities faded as investors assessed a scaled-back fiscal stimulus proposal in the U.S. against the rising toll of the pandemic.

Oil slipped toward $40 in New York as traders looked to U.S. inventory data for clues on demand recovery. Treasuries were little changed, while the dollar fell.

Currently, the TSX is down 0.10% and the DJIA is down 0.20%. EURCAD is up 0.20% trading between 1.5595 and 1.5559. GBPCAD is up 0.13% trading between 1.7159 and 1.7239. JPYCAD is down 0.10% trading between 0.01263 and 0.01268. Gold is down 0.17% trading between $1,875 - $1,890USD/oz while silver is up 0.31% trading between $23.36 - $24.02. Oil (WTI crude) is down 0.42% trading between $40.14 - $40.68.
