U.S. factories expanded more than forecast in January and near the fastest pace in more than 13 years, indicating manufacturing was still powering ahead at the start of 2018, Institute for Supply Management data showed Thursday. Canada also fared well in the same area beating forecasts handily. Yesterdays Fed meeting proved largely uneventful as Janet Yellen leaves with the US economy in good shape. Currently, the TSX is down 0.21% and the DOW is down 0.02%. EURCAD is up 0.22% trading between 1.5250 and 1.5353. GBPCAD is up 0.19 trading between 1.7440 and 1.7560. JPYCAD is down 0.27% trading between 0.01121 and 0.01127. Gold is down 0.20% trading between $1,337 and $1,347USD/oz., silver is down 1.00% trading between $17.11 and $17.37USD/oz., while oil is up 0.92% trading between $64.64 and $65.61.
