U.S. stocks edged higher as trade tensions between the world's 2 biggest economies showed signs of abating over the weekend. Chinese Vice Premier Liu He will travel to the U.S. on Tuesday for trade talks with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin. The USD slipped and the 10-year Treasury yield pushed toward 3%. The S&P Index climbed as technology shares paced gains after President Trump made a major reversal on an earlier move to block telecom equipment maker ZTE Corp from its U.S. suppliers. The EUR jumped and German 10-year yields touched their highest level this month after a senior European Central Bank official said the first rate hike could come quarters, not years after the end of asset purchases. Currently, the TSX is up 0.70% and the DOW is up 0.54%. EURCAD is unchanged trading between 1.5270 and 1.5314. GBPCAD is up 0.14% trading between 1.7313 and 1.7374.
