U.S. stocks surrendered earlier gains to trade mixed amid a further cooling of trade tensions after the Chinese government said it's planning to cut car tariffs by 15 percent. The dollar fell with Treasuries, and crude surged to the highest price since November 2014. The S&P 500 Index advanced, reaching the highest since March, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and small-cap Russell 2000 Index fell. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index climbed and emerging-market shares advanced, ending a three-day losing streak. Currently, the TSX is up .27% while the DJIA is down 0.17%. EURCAD is up 0.25% trading between 1.5024 and 1.5119 . GBPCAD is up 0.15% trading between 1.7140 and 1.7243 . JPYCAD is up 0.50% trading between 0.01149 and 0.01154 . Gold is unchanged trading between $1,291 and $1,297USD/oz., silver is unchanged trading between $16.49 and $16.76USD/oz., while oil is up 0.20% trading between $71.75 and $72.56.
