U.S. stocks fell following declines in Asia and Europe as Daimler AG's profit warning fed into investor concern over the outlook for global trade and growth. Treasuries gained and the dollar weakened. The Dow Jones Industrial Average extended its losing streak to an eighth day as traders digested the German automaker's prediction that escalating trade tensions between the U.S. and China would crimp earnings. Italian bonds and stocks slumped after two prominent critics of the European Union were given key posts in parliament. The pound jumped after the Bank of England's chief economist unexpectedly supported an interest-rate increase. West Texas oil dropped to about $65 a barrel as Saudi Arabia pushed for a supply boost. Currently, the TSX is down 0.16% and the DOW is down 0.49%. EURCAD is up 0.11% trading between 1.5337 and 1.5442. GBPCAD is up 0.79% trading between 1.7454 and 1.7645. JPYCAD is up 0.72% trading between 0.01201 and 0.01209. Gold is down 0.53% trading between $1,261 and $1,270USD/oz., silver is down 0.53% trading between $16.18 and $16.33USD/oz., while oil is down 0.05% trading between $64.36 and $65.70.
