Consumer sentiment index

Stocks advanced, while Treasuries fell as trade tensions appeared to ease after China held off from immediately retaliating against the latest U.S. salvo. The S&P 500 Index rebounded from its biggest decline in two weeks, following shares in Europe and Asia, as China appeared to strike a conciliatory tone in reaction to President Donald Trump's newest escalation of the trade war between the two countries. Ten-year Treasury yields pared gains, while the dollar declined against most peers after U.S. consumer prices rose less than forecast in June. West Texas crude held above $70 a barrel. Currently, the TSX is up 0.29% and the DOW is up 0.68%. EURCAD is down 0.39% trading between 1.5340 and 1.5430. GBPCAD is down 0.10% trading between 1.7378 and 1.7450. JPYCAD is down 1.73% trading between 0.01169 and 0.01179 Gold is up 0.44% trading between $1,241 and $1,247USD/oz., silver is up 0.74% trading between $15.76 and $15.93USD/oz., while oil is up 0.22% trading between $70.00 and $71.20.
