A rally in semiconductor stocks helped push the Nasdaq Composite Index higher, while broader indexes were lower amid concern the U.S. and China may be further from a trade resolution than investors had hoped. The euro trimmed a drop as ECB President Mario Draghi said the central bank had all of its "toolbox still available" as risks shift to the downside. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 Index declined after Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross said the world's two biggest economies remain "miles and miles" apart on trade, while still acknowledging that there is a "fair chance" of a deal. Currently, the TSX is up 0.09% and the DOW is down 0.31. EURCAD is down 0.21% trading between 1.5117 and 1.5204. GBPCAD is down 0.29% trading between 1.7376 and 1.7457. JPYCAD is up 0.27% trading between 0.01216 and 0.01219. Gold is down 0.21% trading between $1,276 and $1,284USD/oz, silver is down 0.15% trading between $15.24 and $15.36USD/oz, while oil is up 0.21% trading between $52.09 and $52.87.
