At VBCE, our mission has always been clear: deliver unbeatable foreign exchange service rooted in expertise, transparency, and client-first values. This commitment extends to our newest location at Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, where this experience comes to life, led by two capable professionals: Kevin and Sarbjeet, now co-managers and FX traders of the Surrey branch.
Their story is one of growth, teamwork, and a new kind of leadership. It’s also a story about what happens when deep market expertise meets local, personalized service—and how that combination delivers exceptional value to our clients.
Surrey's expansion isn't just a new address; it’s our company continuing to provide customers the same high-touch customer service in one of the most dynamic communities in B.C.

Before stepping into leadership, Kevin and Sarbjeet spent years on the trading desk. Both hold MBAs from University Canada West, and their backgrounds in trading uniquely position them to deliver insight that clients can’t get from a standard financial institution.
They know what moves the market, how to time a trade, and, most importantly, how to translate market complexity into clear, actionable guidance for everyday clients.
“Being traders first means we don’t just execute, we analyze, anticipate, and advise,” says Kevin. “Whether a client is moving $5,000 or $500,000, they benefit from the same level of care.”
Every morning begins with a review of overnight foreign exchange updates, a scan of real-time platforms such as TradingView, and a check of international client inquiries.
By 10 am, the branch opens, and they shift into dual mode. Kevin and Sarbjeet may be booking trades, quoting live rates, onboarding new clients, or reviewing compliance-sensitive transactions. They might also be on the phone with clients discussing upcoming interest rate decisions or expected volatility, helping them decide whether to wait or act now.
“We’ll often tell clients, ‘There’s a Bank of Canada rate decision coming up, it could impact your trade. Let’s watch it closely,” says Sarbjeet. “That type of transparency builds trust and often helps clients make better decisions.”
The trader mindset creates real outcomes. Kevin recalls a client sharing that he was able to save a client $3,000 on a $500,000 FX conversion compared to their bank. The client was so pleased with the service that he referred his family members to VBCE.
Kevin also assisted a client serving as an executor of an estate in liquidating part of a bullion portfolio valued at approximately $3 million in gold and the client was very pleased with the high level of service.
Both managers regularly guide clients on options for gold purchases with consideration to market momentum, resale flexibility, and storage considerations.

These are not isolated cases; they are daily examples of how trading acumen turns into financial advantage for VBCE clients.
VBCE’s Guildford Town Centre branch is located in a vibrant, culturally rich region of Surrey, and Kevin and Sarbjeet are well-equipped to serve it. Both are originally from India and are either fluent in Punjabi or Hindi. They understand the community, its business owners, its investors, and its priorities.
“Many families in this area invest in gold not just for financial growth, but for cultural reasons,” Sarbjeet explains. “Understanding that makes all the difference in how we serve them.”
Whether helping small businesses manage cross-border payments, advising on bullion strategies, or facilitating personal remittances, the ability to think like a trader, while acting like a local partner, is what sets this team apart.
Guildford Town Centre is also one of the Lower Mainland’s busiest retail and transit hubs. The new branch offers unmatched convenience for FX and bullion services to the surrounding neighbourhoods, including Surrey, South Surrey, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Langley, and Burnaby, to name a few.
VBCE offers:
In their hybrid role, Kevin and Sarbjeet manage both the branch team and the market-facing side of the business. Their leadership style? Collaborative, calm under pressure, and client-first.
“We lead by example. We don’t ask our team to do anything we wouldn’t do ourselves,” Kevin says. “And because we understand the urgency behind market moves, we’re able to lead with both empathy and speed.”
They’ve built a branch culture where every team member is cross-trained and involved in decision-making, ensuring clients receive fast, accurate service at every touchpoint.
As the branch gains momentum, Kevin and Sarbjeet are already exploring local partnerships, building relationships with import-export businesses, and preparing for seasonal demand during events like Diwali.
Their vision is clear: grow the branch, deepen local trust, and mentor the next generation of VBCE hybrid leaders.
“This model works,” Sarbjeet says. “Because when your managers are traders, you don’t just manage a branch, you elevate the service.”
